Denisha Henry, 32, left died in September from what Chicago Teachers Union said was COVID-19. Henry died on September 24, just one day after Shenitha Currry died of pneumonia from COVID, with diabetes and hypertension as contributing factors. But on Monday, it emerged that Henry had actually died of alcoholism and not COVID like Curry. Still, the Chicago Teachers' Union had tried to use her and another mother's death to call for more testing, 'robust school-based vaccination programs and adequate staffing to support the needs of student traumatized by the harsh consequences of the pandemic.'
